Food
Silica is found more often in plant based foods and less in in animal based foods. It has great nutritional value as it helps develop strong bones, maintain bone and joint strength, and it may prevent alzheimers, and dementia by minimizing aluminum effects on the body. It is found in fruits, including oranges, apples, cherries, plums, and grapes, and in vegetables, including cucumbers, celery, and cabbage. It is also found in some nuts (peanuts and almonds), and in whole grains. Silica can however be lethal if inhaled in small amounts over a long period of time. The silica dust gets lodged in the lungs causing silicosis, bronchitis, and cancer.
